The first phase of the restoration of Soroca Fortress is coming to an end. Maximum three weeks and the historic monument re-open its doors to all comers.

To give the fortified towers of their original appearance, they are covered with the special wooden roof made of construction materials imported from Romania.

Project leader, Ion Boghean, said: "wooden roofs, or as it is called - shingles, pickled in barrels with a special chemical composition from pests. This week we process the wood, and then another two weeks doing the roof and everything is ready. "

The second phase of the restoration involves restoring the cellar, however, the authorities have so far not enough funds for this.

At the first phase has been spent a million euros.
